Welcome On Board- Book Review

It is saucy, raunchy, free-spirited, revealing, heartfelt , cheeky and downright entertaining, and it isn’t the latest Bollywood potboiler! It’s the journey of an international flight attendant over the last 12 years and not an ordinary one at that. - Welcome On Board Copyright  © All rights reserved As I was browsing through Crossword, a light blue covered book with a travel-like image caught my eye, I thought it was pretty attractive as it stands at the crossword ‘recommendation shelf.’  I went ahead and picked it up as I was intrigued to find out what the book was about, and who could have written it. The name of the author seemed new to me, unable to make my decision after reading the synopsis, I went around the aisle, only to come back to the same book called ‘ Welcome on Board’ by  Vinamra   Longani . The book is a vivid account of life 33,000 ft. above the ground. The author who was a flight attendant for decades has noted all his encounter...

Dolce and Gabbana 'Dolce Floral Drops' Review

“Dolce Floral Drops is fresh and light, yet as precious as a morning caress.” –  Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana Copyright   ©  All Rights Reserved For those who know me, would tell you how much I love   hoarding   collecting perfumes. And for those who doesn't, now you do. Today I will be reviewing a perfume from one of my  favourite brands , Dolce and Gabbana ‘Dolce Floral Drops Eau de Toilette.’  I am very particular when it comes to choosing a perfume. I go for mild and delicate or say ‘not so strong’ kind of smell. This time, the pretty Dolce Floral drops caught my attention and I had to give it a try. The scent is light and fresh with a twist of sweet yet dewy and soothing texture. Going by my preference, I love fragrances which are feminine and sweet, yet a spray and it should stay for long. D&G Floral drops comes in a thick glass, curved lines, and solid bottom, the cap is sculpted in the shape of  ...

Book Review- Z by Zayn Malik

Copyright © All rights reserved  "This book is my diary of a period that I would like to share with you all. I hope that there are things in the book that contextualize some of the moments and memories we have all shared together. There are things I address in the book that are very personal to me, things that I have never told anyone, things I still find hard to talk about. It's a part of a journey I'm still on."—ZAYN After reviewing so many books, it will be unfair of me to not give an appraisal to Zayn's Book... My 'Man Crush #Everyday.'   ZAYN, the name itself says a lot about him... it means 'Beautiful', which he really is.  I have been such a loyal follower ever since the world’s No. 1 boy band 'One Direction' came into existence. And I still reminisce the day when he left the group, leaving all the #fangirl with broken hearts, some even got angry and confused over his sudden decision. Nobody really knew the stor...

Rupi Kaur: Milk and Honey- Book Review

Words as Sweet as Milk and Honey! “how is it so easy for you to be kind to people he asked milk and honey dripped from my lips as I answered cause people have not been kind to me” - Rupi Kaur Copyright- All rights reserved Just reading the poetry at her Instagram page was enough to convince me that milk and honey is the book I should be reading, and it didn’t take me much time to complete the book. Reason- My heart was captivated with Rupi Kaur's strong use of words and illustrations (Warning- Graphics contains nudity and sexual images ) Popularly known as an Insta Poet, Rupi Kaur has sent a strong message of violence, abuse, love, loss, and feminist in her book 'milk and honey'. Each chapter has different stories to tell. I am a poetry enthusiastic and anything in a poem with deep meaning is enough to sway me away from the real world. Milk and Hon...

The Spy by Paulo Coelho- Book Review

“ I am a woman who was born at the wrong time and nothing can be done to fix this. I don’t know if the future will remember me, but if it does, may it never see me as a victim, but as someone who moved forward with courage, fearlessly paying the price she had to pay. ” ©M.Kikon This book hooked me till the last page. 'The Spy' by Paulo Coelho is written based on a true event about a   Dutch exotic dancer   named  Margaretha Geertruida Zelle  who later changed her name as “Mata Hari."  She delighted the audience with her dance and became a famous courtesan and a dancer. She was later accused and arrested for being a double espionage, as her lifestyle seemed suspicious during the times of the war. This book is a fascinating and an engaging read, where Paulo Coelho narrates and bring us closer to the character through a fictional letter written by Mata Hari to her lawyer, Maitre Clunet, one week before her execution. As described in the book, she w...

Four Things Demonetisation has taught Me

On 8 th November, 2016, when half of the world were impatiently waiting for the verdict of   US presidential election, India was shaken with news by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi , who (suddenly) announced the ceasing of ₹ 500 and ₹ 1000 as a solution to crack down on   black money in the country .  This news sent the whole country into frenzy and people started rushing to the nearest possible banks and ATM’s either to deposit or withdraw the new denomination. Come next day and  I saw queue of people waiting for their turns to deposit the old currency in exchange for the new ones, whilst most of the ATM’s were not even functioning. I waited for a week thinking the crowd will soon decrease with time, but with each passing days it kept growing longer and longer. I made up my mind to try my hands so that I can get my share of notes exchanged. So, when the trouble of the note crunch made me stand amongst those frustrated crowd in the long queue, ...
