In a world where a left swipe means you could be alone and sexless forever and taking a chance could mean you find ‘The One’, the question we often find ourselves asking is, what is love? When romance writer Aastha Atray Banan found herself getting asked questions about the daily struggles of love she decided to start a podcast, Love Aaj Kal, that dealt with everything about love and relationships.

The L-Word is about modern love: from ghosting, polyamory, love in the times of social media to more every-day problems like dealing with heartbreak, infidelity and getting out of toxic relationships.

Love can be many things – sometimes intimidating, frustrating, and often exhilarating – this book tells you how to make sense of it.

My Take On The Book

The L Word- Love, Lust, and Everything In-Between, I guess the title is self-explanatory of what the book is about. This is the first book I read by the romance writer Aastha Atray Banan who found herself getting asked questions about the daily struggles of love she decided to start a podcast, Love Aaj Kal, that dealt with everything about love and relationships.  And here she is turning her expertise into writing i.e 'The L Word.' The book will tell you about Love, Lust, and everything in between. Reading the book took me back to the first heartbreak I had, and I wished I had read it then.

Each chapter gives us an example of real-life incidents. This read will make you feel connected and answers few doubts too. The topics covered by the author are all related to love, heartbreak, why people ghost, the meaning of lust, the importance of loving yourself, moving on from a toxic relationship, and more relatable topics which Gen Z, millennial and even Gen x will find helpful. This book is a breezy read, and the language is easy to understand.  I found myself agreeing to most of her POV and wished there were more pages. Thankfully, I can listen to her podcast for more such related topics. In short, this book is a guide to love, dating, and relationship in this modern world.

It was fun and pleasant reading this one and I am sure you will want this on your TBR list.  As the author rightly said, 'Love can be many things – sometimes intimidating, frustrating, and often exhilarating – this book tells you how to make sense of it.'

Book Review: Yours Legally by Sonia Sahijwani

About the Book A young girl Sia has recently finished her graduation in Law against her parent’s wishes. With absolutely no family background in the legal profession, she sets out to explore the various opportunities this not so common but upcoming field of law brings her way. Written in the form of short stories and inspired by some true events, the author, through the protagonist Sia, narrates to us few such unusual and memorable incidents including some eccentric courtroom dramas, all of which left a deep impact in her life. This debut book one is an honest attempt to talk about the law with a dash of satire, with an aim to reach out to all those who may or may have never heard anything about the legal profession nor would have ever stepped inside a court. And for those who are a part of it already, they might relate to it in some way. Just read along and enjoy the short but bumpy ride….. My Take on the Book The title of the book caught my attention. ‘ Yours Legally ’ b...
