Book Review of Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

“You're not living if you're not regretting.”

I guess it’s never too late to write a book review, or maybe until it’s adapted into a movie. I guess!
I am talking about the book ‘Everything, Everything’ by Nicola Yoon which became the much talked and much-awaited film which was adapted from its original fiction work. The book was published in 2015, and the movie was released this year i.e. 2017, so on the onset of the movie trailer, people were intrigued to find out more about the book before the movie came out. The same applied to me too; I was curious to read the book before catching the movie.

Somehow I am more absorbed in books which are adapted into a movie, who isn’t? You are just interested to find out how the director changes the scene sequence or the line printed on a page into a screenplay. I bought the book only after I saw the trailer of the movie (honest confession). Luckily, the book got me hooked from the start.

Everything, Everything is a debut novel by Nicola Yoon, the story is about an 18 years old girl named Madeline Whittier who is allergic to the outside world. She is suffering from SCID, an immuno-deficiency disease that prevents her from going outside her room and interacting with others. She has never left her house in seventeen years. Her Mum along with the help of a nurse take care of her. She lives in her own bubble because of her sickness, but she longs to see the outside world. “The book is about the thrill and heartbreak that happens when we break out of our shell to do crazy, sometimes death-defying things for love.”

Madeline’s life is changed after a family moves next door and she meets Olly, a boy who wears only black and do parkour as if he was some light object. Both of the teen's exchange email and things turn entirely different as they start liking each other. Madeline decided to risk her life to face the outside world (Which she always wanted to) because she thinks she is in love with Olly and love is worth Everything, Everything. It is a story with a strong message of love and more about loving every single second of your life.

Maybe you should grab a copy now and find out what 'Love' can make you do, risking your own life and doing the impossible. As a matter of fact, the movie has done justice to the book, You will get the whole point if you have read the book.
You could be wrong if you think this is one of those, ‘Fault in our Stars’ kind of book. Trust me, it’s different, and you will surely love it.

Book Review: Yours Legally by Sonia Sahijwani

About the Book A young girl Sia has recently finished her graduation in Law against her parent’s wishes. With absolutely no family background in the legal profession, she sets out to explore the various opportunities this not so common but upcoming field of law brings her way. Written in the form of short stories and inspired by some true events, the author, through the protagonist Sia, narrates to us few such unusual and memorable incidents including some eccentric courtroom dramas, all of which left a deep impact in her life. This debut book one is an honest attempt to talk about the law with a dash of satire, with an aim to reach out to all those who may or may have never heard anything about the legal profession nor would have ever stepped inside a court. And for those who are a part of it already, they might relate to it in some way. Just read along and enjoy the short but bumpy ride….. My Take on the Book The title of the book caught my attention. ‘ Yours Legally ’ b...
