The Heartfulness Way Review: Book by Joshua Pollock and Kamlesh D. Patel

Blurb:
Based on Daaji’s own combination of approaches and practices for the modern spiritual seeker—which draws from the teachings of the Sahaj Marg, meaning “The Natural Path,” and incorporates elements of Sufism—Heartfulness is a contemporized version of the ancient Indian practice of Raja Yoga, a tradition that enables the practitioner to realise the divine self within. While many books describe refined states of consciousness and connection to a higher self, often called “enlightenment” or “nirvana,” The Heartfulness Way goes further, providing a pragmatic course to experience them, which, per the book’s guiding principle, is “better than knowledge.”
Heartfulness meditation consists of four elements—relaxation, meditation, rejuvenation, and connection—and illuminates the ancient, defining feature of yogic transmission (or pranahuti), the utilization of divine energy for spiritual growth and transformation. Using the method, detailed practices, tips, and practical philosophy offered in this book, you’ll reach new levels of attainment and learn to live a life more deeply connected to the values of the Heartfulness way—with acceptance, humility, compassion, empathy, and love.
About the Book:
Call it a co-incident but these days, My TBR and review list are filled with something related to Yoga and Meditation. First, the Twinkle Khanna's latest book,  which is somehow related to a story narrated while the protagonist was at a yoga centre and next, this self- help/mediation book- The Heartfulness Way: Heart-Based Meditations for Spiritual Transformation by Kamlesh D. Patel and Joshua Pollock. As always, I am pretty much intrigued by meditation related topics which I wish to seek at least once in my lifetime. Maybe, soon. Going by the cover and the title, readers will get the idea of where this book will lead you. Also, to those who are aware of the heartfulness way will be able to resonate even more distinctly
The book is based on Daaji’s own combination of approaching and practising the modern spiritual; seeker. It is drawn from the teaching of the Sahaj Marg “The Natural Path,” and incorporates elements of Sufism. The book goes even further in offering a pragmatic course to experience them, which, per the book’s guiding principle, is “better than knowledge.” You will get to perceive more about the deeply connected to the values of Heartfulness way once you peruse the book. In the meantime, you can read my take on it.
My Take on the Book:
What strikes me most about this book was the concluding sentence which state, “so listen to your heart carefully and follow it faithfully. Let it be your inner guru. It will guide you at every step of the way and every detail of your life. That is Heartfulness.” And, thus these phrases hit me hard on how listening to one's heart means really paying heed to what it wants to say. And, after I completed the book, I felt a sense of understanding and a close connection between me and my heart.
Apart from the many valuable messages I erudite from the book, it also taught me on how heartfulness is an ideal, spiritual way of living one’s life, including the heart which connects with all ideologies, belief, and religions. The book is clearly narrated vis-a-vis of a student, Joshua Pollock in conversation with his teacher- Kamlesh D. Patel, where they exchange dialogues on why meditation is important? Examining the nature of the spiritual search, and how the practice of heartfulness can offer in transforming us from the inside out.
The book will help you to reflect on the essence of prayer and yogic transmission to demystifying the act of meditation through practical tips which are included in each chapter. Talking about the practice of heartfulness, this book state the essence beyond the form, the reality behind the ritual, and all about finding true meaning and contentment at the core of our heart.
There are many things which the book made me discern the true message of heartfulness, but one thing which will stay in my heart is the line-  “It’s all about living life by listening to the heart again and again.”
I will surely recommend this book to anyone who wishes to incorporate meditation into their lifestyle, or to anyone who wishes to know more about listening to your heart more closely, so that one can live a life more deeply connected to the values of the Heartfulness way—with acceptance, humility, compassion, empathy, and love.

Book Review: Birth of the Fae: Locked Out of Heaven by Danielle Orsino

About the Book What would you do if all you knew had abandoned you? Abandoned by their creator, two factions of angels remain on earth after the Great War with Lucifer. These Virtues and Power Angels struggle to comprehend their Creator’s plan while their wings, a symbol of their angelic lineage, slowly and painfully decay. Unaware of one another, the angels learn to survive and reinvent themselves. With no hope of returning to the Shining Kingdom, both groups denounce their angelic lineage and develop into their own factions. They call themselves the “Fae.” This is their story. The Fae world is ruled by two distinct courts: the Court of Light, led by Queen Aurora, a former Virtue Angel, and the Court of Dark, ruled by King Jarvok, a former Power Brigade Angel. The two monarchs have opposing views on how to govern their kin and, more importantly, the way humanity plays into their survival. The one belief they agree on is human worship equals power. Exactly how the two go about capturin

Book Review: The L-word By Aastha Atray Banan

photo credit: Shethepeople Blurb In a world where a left swipe means you could be alone and sexless forever and taking a chance could mean you find ‘The One’, the question we often find ourselves asking is, what is love? When romance writer Aastha Atray Banan found herself getting asked questions about the daily struggles of love she decided to start a podcast, Love Aaj Kal, that dealt with everything about love and relationships. The L-Word is about modern love: from ghosting, polyamory, love in the times of social media to more every-day problems like dealing with heartbreak, infidelity and getting out of toxic relationships. Love can be many things – sometimes intimidating, frustrating, and often exhilarating – this book tells you how to make sense of it. My Take On The Book The L Word- Love, Lust, and Everything In-Between , I guess the title is self-explanatory of what the book is about. This is the first book I read by the romance writer Aastha Atray Banan who found her

Reading in Quarantine- #Birthdaybloghop

Books are good company, in sad times and happy times, for books are people – people who have managed to stay alive by hiding between the covers of a book.” – E.B. White With the Coronavirus crisis and most of the nation quarantined inside the comfort of their homes, I can presume all the bookworms silently rejoicing, not that the world is coming to a standstill (that would be rude), but because of the reason that we will have all the possible time in the world to be reading and ticking off our TBR lists (Not precisely though). At least we thought we will have all the possible time in the world to read and read till our eyes are sore, but guess that remind yet another excuse of, ‘maybe, I will start reading tomorrow.' And, one would probably be asking, ‘why read? when we have other things to keep ourselves engaged. There are so many other things to do and catch up with- for instance, binge-watching book adapted series, attending zoom calls, video calling old friends to ch
